Pundit Golf

Description

We return to Pundit Games yet again-- in which we speculate about a perfect world in which political and cable news conflicts are solved by throwing everyone in a room, giving them a Wii and letting them slug it out.

...or golf, as the case may be here.

Episode 1 had Keith Olbermann vs. Bill O'Reilly (with special guest partners Barack Obama and Sarah Palin) for some Super Smash Bros.
Episode 2 pitted Rachel Maddow against Gretchen Carlson in Mario Kart Wii (and I STILL wish there really was a Rubber Duckie-themed couch).
Episode 3 entailed Chris Matthews and Glenn Beck (with special guest partners Joe Biden and George W. Bush and their pooches) Brawling it out again...

...and now we have Episode 4: Ed Schultz vs. Rush Limbaugh.

Now, Pundit Games have previously been a MSNBC vs. Fox News thing, and (at this time of posting) Rush isn't actually one of the Fox News overlords... but let's just pretend that Rupert Murdoch made him an honorary member of the family, mmkay? :)

The main impetus behind this matchup comes from a particular segment of the July 15, 2009 episode of The Ed Show in which Ed calls Rush out over a Mr. Ed potshot. This was too funny NOT to convert into an episode of Pundit Games. XD

And now for our live studio audience:
MSNBC Couch: Chris Matthews (STILL XD-face forever), Rachel Maddow (likes popcorn) and Keith Olbermann (no dual-wielding Wii wheels or sucker-punching this time, watching Bill-O being used as a security blanket is amusement enough. Behind the couch, Kent Jones and Lawrence O'Donnell (who also approves of Bill-O the Security Blanket).

Fox News Couch: Bill O'Reilly (is not amused), Glenn Beck (who doesn't realize that Wiimotes do not broadcast evil communist messages and thus the tinfoil hat is unnecessary) and Sean Hannity (is he facepalming about Beck, or Rush clocking himself in the face with his own Wiimote?)

Final note: Don't forget to put on your Wiimote's wriststrap. Nintendo puts those warnings in there for a reason. :P Rush learned this the hard way! Ouch.
